A r nold Bennett H all, president of the University of Oregon, at the chamber ot commerce luncheon today, told of some of his hopes and aspirations as chief execu tive of the ptate’a largest Institu tion of higher education. H e Is a man who speaks their language, and is thus able to present his message in a manner which wins speedy sympathy and respectful hearing. In the brief time allotted him this noon. Dr. H al) sketches thy three greatest functions of the -University ot Oregon as he views It. The first of these is the edu cation of the sons and daughters of Oregon.
